The two SMUSD cell towers were built without any building permits, inspections or tests.
Cell tower fires cannot be fought with water or foam and are left to burn out on its own. Century windstorms have exceeded the wind ratings of the cell towers and the seismic rating of the cell towers are unknown. In 2000 Los Angeles Unified School District banned cell towers on and near school campuses.

Dr. Martin Blank's letter to Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) passed a resolution in 2000 opposing the placement of cell towers on or immediately adjacent to school property, and then in 2009 passed a stronger resolution, again raising concerns about the "long-term health effects of low-frequency electromagnetic and radio-frequency emissions [from cell towers]." Both resolutions are available at http://www.cloutnow.org/localres/.

Many
prominent organizations and individuals endorsed the 2009 LAUSD Resolution. Among the endorsements was a powerful letter from Dr. Martin Blank, Associate Professor of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University.

The letter is also available for download below and at:
