Dr. Mike Y. Chen, MD, PhD - originally planned presentation to the SMUSD Board of Directors
Since Dr. Mike Y. Chen was denied by the San Marino Unified School District school board the opportunity to present the following presentation at the San Marino
Unified School District public study session, which was held on October 23,
2012, at the Huntington Middle School auditorium, we invite
concerned parents to view the following to have a better understanding
of what is at stake for our children and the risks involved if we were
to allow cell towers to remain on our Valentine Elementary/Huntington
Middle Schools and San Marino High School campuses.
Dr. Mike Y. Chen is the Section Head -
Brain Tumor Program, Assistant Professor - Neurosurgery, Member -
Developmental Cancer Therapeutics Program, Comprehensive Cancer Center,
and Assistant Professor of Surgery at City of Hope.
We urge everyone to review the information and research on our blog, www.removecelltowers.blogspot.com and sign our petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/remove-cell-towers-from-smusd.
Cell towers do NOT belong on schools! Our children's health should not be placed at risk. Thank you for your support!
As concerned parents, we want the safest school campuses possible but the presence of illegally-built commercial cell towers makes us question the safety of our children as they spend 7+ hours a day at school. The two SMUSD cell towers were built without any building permits, inspections or tests. Who is liable for their structural safety?
